Among our many contributors you'll find Kassandra Thatcher, the artist behind our organic ceramic sconces, gracing our venue with a touch of nature-inspired elegance. Miele, the provider of appliances for our state-of-the-art kitchen, ensuring functionality meets sophistication. Splash Lab, the creative force that fabricated our unique trough/planter sink. STUDIO 1/32
We are excited about our collaboration with Studio 1/32 who played a pivotal role in shaping Lacuna. They meticulously designed and crafted our high-end kitchen with it’s unique island and floating shelves. They also built our bathroom vanity and storage cabinet plus our office cabinets featuring reclaimed wood tops and an exquisite floating black metal desk. Their unmatched expertise, commitment to detail, and extraordinary design skills were instrumental in creating Lacuna as a space that sets a new standard for excellence.
KASSANDRA THATCHER
Renowned for her exceptional talent with clay, Kassandra is a master sculptor and designer. Her expertise shines through in the creation of five handcrafted sconces, bringing a unique, illuminated charm to our entry and main space. Kassandra's phenomenal work extends its reach to galleries and showrooms worldwide, solidifying her position as a sought-after artist in the realm of organic, handcrafted ceramics.
WILLIS
Willis helped us curate cutting-edge materials for Lacuna's kitchen and bathroom, featuring distinct Lapitec sintered stone countertops that bring sophistication to our kitchen. Their durable and beautiful Fenix cabinet front material adds an innovative touch. Thanks to Willis, Lacuna effortlessly embodies a blend of innovation and quality.
MIELE
Enhancing our custom-built kitchen, we have Miele’s four appliances: the graphite M Touch convection oven, built under refrigerator, flush mount induction cooktop, and fully Integrated dishwasher. Miele's contribution transforms our space into a harmonious blend of sophistication and functionality with their timeless elegance and cutting edge technology.
THE SPLASH LAB
Lacuna embodies design and sustainability through a custom trough sink meticulously crafted by Splash Lab. Designed by Dre, the sink seamlessly integrates a Corian planter, while Splash Lab's expertise is further highlighted in the fabrication and provision of the Corian material. With Splash Lab's commitment to craftsmanship and environmental consciousness, Lacuna offers a uniquely stylish and sustainable experience.
BERBERE IMPORTS
We’re thankful to Berbere Imports for enriching our entry at Lacuna with their vintage, rustic wooden console table. Their distinctive touch continues with a collection of white-washed, terracotta planters that grace both our indoor and outdoor spaces, and their tree stump coffee table, adding a timeless and inviting charm to the overall ambiance.
KEBONY
Shoutout to our collaborator, Kebony, for their contribution to Lacuna. We utilized their exceptionally attractive, sustainable, and dually modified wood. Fashioned into horizontal and diagonal slats, it graces the exterior of our bath house building, seamlessly marrying aesthetics with longevity.
TWENTIETH AND ROSS GARDAM
Collaborating with Twentieth, a distinguished furniture and lighting showroom in Los Angeles known for partnering with renowned designers, we proudly showcase two sizable oak pendants above the sink in our bath house. These exceptional, solid, and beautifully crafted organic pendants bring a 'wow' factor to the room. Ross's sustainable products are designed not only to endure but also to elicit joy and defy convention.
22 SYSTEM
We're pleased to feature 22 System and their innovative patented outlets here at Lacuna. Expertly integrated into our kitchen backsplash, island, and bathroom, they introduce a refined, minimalistic aesthetic. The absence of visible fasteners or cover plates adds to their minimal, high-end appeal, enhancing the overall ambiance of our space.
IINDUSTRY OF ALL NATIONS
We adore the versatility of our Panamericana Teak folding chairs from Industry of All Nations. These chairs are the perfect addition, seamlessly transitioning from indoors to outdoors, providing extra seating as needed. With their clean lines and natural materials, they align perfectly with our aesthetic and mindset.
FERGUSON
Ferguson has been instrumental in outfitting Lacuna with essential elements such as our kitchen faucet and water filter, kitchen sink, handicap bathroom sink and faucet, as well as our door knobs and locks. Each piece contributes not only to the functionality but also enhances the overall design aesthetics, seamlessly complementing the look and feel of Lacuna.
SILK ROAD RUG, INC.
Silk Road Rugs contributed a stunning mid-century style jute flatweave rug that has become the perfect complement to our office space and the overall aesthetic of Lacuna.
The natural materials and earthy tones of the rug not only enhance the visual appeal but also create a warm and inviting atmosphere. Working with Silk Road Rugs was an absolute pleasure.
Beyond their exquisite collection is their impeccable customer service. Their attention to detail and commitment to client satisfaction made our collaboration seamless and enjoyable.
HEDSOUTH
HEDsouth was essential in elevating the ambiance at Lacuna. Responsible for providing all the indoor and outdoor speakers, as well as the SONOS system and security cameras, they showcased a profound understanding and seamless execution of technology. Jan, in particular, demonstrated exceptional expertise and dedication in ensuring that the electrical aspects at Lacuna worked flawlessly. The integration of their audio systems and security cameras added a layer of sophistication to the space, contributing significantly to Lacuna as a whole.
LARA HOAD ARCHITECTURE DESIGN
Collaborating with Lara Hoad Architecture Design, has been an exceptional experience. Based in LA, Lara’s architecture practice is not only known for its innovative designs but also for its commitment to building community and fostering a female-forward and collaborative approach in the industry. Lara and I worked closely on Lacuna, and the process was nothing short of delightful and exciting. Together, we explored concepts, discussing the functionality and aesthetics of the space. Lara's dedication to true teamwork was evident as we sat side by side, crafting a vision that seamlessly integrated my desires for a spacious outdoor courtyard, a distinct office and entry, and a separate building housing three bathrooms. Together we landed a design that exceeded my expectations.
VERDE/LA
Finally, a special acknowledgment to Verde/LA – our invaluable contractor without whom reaching the finish line would not have been possible. Engaged in every facet of the building process, they demonstrated unwavering commitment to realizing our vision. With an impressive ability to execute even the finest details and adeptly pivot with our evolving needs, we are immensely grateful for their partnership as the contractors on this special project.
